The Powerful Gospel

The Gospel is powerful! Many stop at Jesus dying for us and freeing our chains, but there is more! The following video was shared on Facebook by Toby, a friend of mine, on "The Courageous Christian" Page. The video expresses the Gospel in such a beautiful way.

Everyone has Hope! Jesus Christ came to this earth not to condemn but to save!

"And Jesus cried out and said,'He who believes in Me, does not believe in Me but in Him who sent Me. He who sees Me sees the One who sent Me. I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.' "

Stepping Out on Faith

There is a story to why I am starting this blog. About a month ago, I wanted to start one, but I had no idea what to do a blog about. It is obvious to do a blog about what God is doing in my life and what He is teaching me, but I wanted to be more specific.

My daddy accepted His first pastorate in Brookhaven, MS in 2006, and sad to say our family went through a difficult time there. So, after resigning from that first church, we stepped out into a world of uncertainties. We had no where to go, no alternate house to go to. So, we moved in with my grandparents for one month. As a mere thirteen year old, I really didn't grasp that we were homeless.

I remember organizing my clothes, just so, in my suit case, so that when I pulled it out from under the bunk bed, my twin brother and I shared, I could get to everything I needed quickly. Jonathan and I not only shared a room with each other, it served as my papa's office. I had no room for my socks, so I was so proud when I found about an inch of unused space to store them on the shelf in the closet

But God was so faithful! After Jonathan and I finished up our seventh grade year in 2007 , we moved to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Most said that the apartments were small, but to us, it was a huge upgrade.

During that first year at the Seminary, God began the healing process. God called me to be a missionary and started building the foundation of Faith for my family and I.

This biggest step of Faith was when I was fifteen. I had met some missionaries on the campus in New Orleans while they were home on furlough. I became close friends with their daughter. When the time came for them to go back to their mission field I desired more than anything to go visit them. God provided every penny I needed and sent me for three weeks to West Africa.

Since then, there have been other mission trips and many ministry opportunities close to home. But last year, I traveled to Tacna, Peru to minister with WeWillGo Ministries at Exodus House Peru. With this trip, God provided everything needed in only three short months! Praise God! He knows what He is doing.

So (Yes, I am long winded at times :D) The purpose of this blog is to not only share what Christ is doing around the world and give Him glory for life, but I also want to share what God is calling me to do.

I have been praying for the last few months about interning somewhere for two months during the summer. God drew me to Exodus House once more. I wanted to give my whole summer to build relationships with the people I had met there, and I had planned to start college when I got back. I had begun Prayer Letters, but have not been able to finish or send them. The reason, I believe, is that God had a bigger plan. I stress and overplan, but God's plan is always the best. Just today, God revealed a part of his plan and confirmed it more than once. God wants me to intern at Exodus House Peru for one year.

I have no idea how He will work it all out, but in Faith, I will trust Him. God knows exactly where I will be, who he made me to be, and how He will get me there.
